Erik Nielsen, CCRM, serves as an apartment / investment broker, (Lic. 01907679) specializing in the purchase and sale of multifamily properties in the coastal Monterey Bay Area (Santa Cruz & Monterey Counties) of Northern California since 2010. Specializing in the sale of 2-100 units, Erik brokers transactions for the investor of income properties.
Erik also assists owners of underperforming or management intensive properties to exchange those assets into higher performing triple-net, leased investment properties that require minimal owner/investor involvement. Additionally, Erik also provides operational and management consulting to increase revenue and value, or resolve problems for property owners.
Erik has served as an Investment Advisor at Marcus & Millichap, a nationwide commercial brokerage firm, and as a Financial Specialist at Wachovia Bank. Erik has more than ten years of business experience in technology sales and business development, five years in the financial sector, serving in positions both tactical and strategic in nature. In this career prior to real estate, Erik served in various sales and business development capacities both technical and promotional in nature, where he was responsible for the marketing of companies and products to investors and customers. As a result, his approach to selling a property has a heavy emphasis on proactive marketing, as well as a grassroots basis of getting the word out.
Erik is qualified as a California Certified Residential Manager (CCRM) by the California Apartment Association. He is a member of the California Apartment Association, the Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors, and mlslistings.com. Erik invests in real estate, and has served as the President of a neighborhood association for 39 income properties in Silicon Valley. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science and Philosophy from University California Santa Cruz. Erik also publishes a newsletter on the coastal Monterey Bay Area Multifamily Market.
Erik served four years in The United States Marine Corps as an infantry Squad Leader, with honorary discharge. In the military, Erik learned mission accomplishment; to improvise, adapt, and overcome in creative ways to accomplish the mission, honesty, integrity, and faithfulness. During his service, Erik achieved such accomplishments as becoming a Scout Skier at the Mountain Warfare Training Center, a Primary Marksmanship Instructor, and attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Erik’s goal is bringing buyers and sellers together so that everyone’s goals are met, also, assisting owners in the management of their properties. Closing deals is of the utmost importance. Exhaustive disclosure is paramount for protection of both parties. Success on the listing or acquisition, “and it is perfect for everybody” is the goal. Erik was born and raised in Santa Cruz, and draws from a lifetime of area knowledge when serving our clients.
